The Emu (real version)
The most vicious creature on earth! Often confused with stupid looking birds that stole the name.
The Emu is one of the most horrifying and terrible creatures on earth. If you are unlucky enough to run into one then your chance of survival is very low. These creatures are one of the oldest inhabitants of this planet and you should be thankful that they are unable to leave as it is likely that spacefaring emu's would likely dominate this universe. They are not alpha predators, they are alpha hunting predators. When the dinosaurs were killed by a meteorite hitting the earth, it didn't even harm the emus. In fact the Emus were so very tough that the king Emu, greatest of all; headbutted the asteroid sending it reeling back into space. Unfortunately the explosive force of the king Emu's headbutt sent a shockwave out that destroyed the pathetic dinosaurs.
In the early 1990s billionaire philanthropist 'Jock Hamhand' managed to trick a large group of Emu's on to a single, remote island. Hamhand believed he could make the island safe for paid visitors to see the Emu's in a safe environment. This was the creation of the famous ‘Emu park’.
Hamhand was extremely foolish, Emu's are not creatures to be trifled with. Hamhand was eaten in a single bite along with every other human on the island. The terror was only halted by the famous ‘Emu Hunter C’, a man who has dedicated his life to halting the inevitable domination of emu kind.
Obviously this is a pretty bizarre looking creature. I started drawing these guys 30+ years ago and given the thin necks and legs I was always concerned about creating a 3d model. I am fairly pleased with the first attempt however.
Shrooman beings
They are to the underground what humans are to the overground. Stout, angry and shouty people that have a great love for snails. Recently Shrooman scouts discovered ways to reach the overground and are exploring as we speak....
First spotted on the Isle of Wight by people eating flowers outside of Carisbrooke castle. They are numerous, with a vast civilization deep underground that has been hidden for thousands of years.
The Shroomen have worked out that ancient water wells provide a gateway to the overground and the well in Carisbrooke Castle appears to be their initial entry point to our realm.
Shroomen have great self belief and a rather warped reality that is rather different to our own.
To a Shrooman, being angry is the most important thing. A Shrooman that is angry is inwardly calm and at peace. A Shrooman that is smiling or looking happy is extremely dangerous and likely deranged and/or insane. These Shroomen are often outcast for their strange behaviour and inability to fit in. Unlike other shroomen they are quiet, cunning and devious. A 'normal' shrooman will walk around with a large grimace or outwardly angry expression. They have extremely high pitch voices and shrooman warfare generally involves shouting battles, practical jokes and general mischief almost like a society of intelligent gremlins.
Little is known about Shroomen history or origin. What is known is that they have a great love of giant snails and have been their allies and partners for many eons. Shroomen can move considerably faster than snails however the greatest Shroomen warriors ride them, as the slow speed enables them to shout more often without losing their breath and gives them time to thoroughly insult and laugh at their enemies.
Shroomen females (Shroowomen) are smaller than their male counterparts but are believed to be louder and far more insulting. They are not as commonly seen as males, and appear to prefer operating in the shadows.
There are many varieties of Shroomen gradually being discovered.....
I have spent a considerable amount of time modelling these guys. The latest iterations include miniature figures that can be personalised, shroomen LED lights, key-rings and coasters. We can even make Shroomen T-shirts! They are the most developed and professional original models currently available from Emu Lab.
Werechickens
Ever heard of werewolves? Yes? Ever seen one? No. That's because the elusive Werechicken is the ultimate 'Were' creature. Long ago they took their place as the strongest Werebeast and hunted the others such as wolves to extinction. Vicious, angry and mischievous; these creatures are a deadly threat to every race in the shroomiverse.

Potato boyz
Extremely stupid creatures that act as drones for their Oogly masters. Variants include the tator drone and termitator.
