Broken E-Bike charger

A look at a small engineering project repairing a broken E-bike charger

The problem and investigation:

The owner of the E-bike was out cycling with a friend who crashed into him, damaging the bicycles battery charging connector.

We found that Yamaha (the maker of the bicyle/battery) only sell the complete battery, which costs around £500. The connector is completely unavailable.

Looking at existing repair options we found companies that offer repairs and sell replacement chargers. However repairs are expensive and there are no battery connectors available for sale - just chargers.

We extensively searched for 3d models already in existence with the aim of 3d printing available. We found absolutely nothing available. The solution therefore required designing and building a replacement connector and repairing the wiring.

To be concluded....
